Last week went pretty well despite being sidelined by a migraine that lasted for 2 days. Ugh, it was awful!! I managed to accomplish everything on the list except the WiiFit and shooting hoops w/ T. (I did take her and R out for some girl time which was fun) We also learned we have to buy a stand for the heavy bag so finding one is on my list for this week. My other goals for the week:
Take and post my "Before" pic for the JJB BeFit Challenge.
Not let whining about dinners derail my menu or my diet. Or anyone else's. ;)
Be a good Biggest Loser (Wii) contestant!!
Order a starter Henna tattoo kit. Fun!!
Do something active with the kids this weekend.
Pretty easy goals this week!! Looking forward to it!!

Feeling pretty accomplished
Week 1 went rather well. I had a few things I didn't get done, and a few hiccups causing me to reschedule things but all in all I got a lot done.
I got Riley to all her misc. tests and she got her driver's license which is proving to be super handy. I didn't get the boys to the indoor playground not myself to the gym since we had car issues. Got the car fixed. Yay! Got the bills paid. The new recipe we tried was a Lemon Vanilla steamed pudding and it was super yummy and fun to make. TJ didn't end up taking any time off so no "us" time, but that's ok. I also bought a punching bag with my Xmas $$ for the fun new activity with the kids. Now to clear out a space in the garage. Also, I didn't get Doc appt's scheduled either. :( Don't know what I'm afraid of there..... probably reality, but I WILL get it done!
This week (don't think I'll break it down by day since I've found that the best laid plans tend to get waylaid quickly around here!)
Clean out the garage. Make a space for the punching bag workout area.
Find out some OB/GYNs on our ins and research them. Pick one!
Get the house all clean and shiny, finish getting the stuff from the painting put back.
Stick to my calorie and exercise goals for the week.
Try the WiiFit Gold's Gym game at least 2 days.
Make one special surprise dinner for TJ. With a steamed pudding dessert.
Weather permitting take Taylor to the school to shoot hoops over the weekend.
Re-org the daily schedule to accomodate new sports schedules. Print, post, and follow!
Have some one on one time with Riley. I think she needs it right now.
Here's to a great week!! :)

Bring on the New Year!!
Got the kids' rooms moved around (again!! LOL) and we're hard at work on getting Max to sleep in his own room. Their new room is big enough to incorporate their playroom stuff (a big plus since it was formerly housed in the front room of our house and a huge pile of toys does not say "Welcome". Even has space for a blow up mattress for Mama to keep Maxie in his bed. Plus a big boost in the organization of all 4 affected rooms! Bonus!!
Max's Bday was fun, can't believe he is 3! My BABY is 3!! And Riley takes her driver's test tomorrow. Sheesh I'm old. I've also completed a (pretty basic IE easy to follow) meal plan for the week so no excuses for going off track! I have some big plans for the week as vacation is over and it's time to get serious!
Monday: Make Doc appt's w/ Family Practice and OB/GYN for complete check-ups. Pay bills and get them entered into the Excel budget. Take Riley to her skills test.
Tuesday: I am taking the little boys to the indoor playground for burning off some winter energy and taking Riley to the DMV in the morning for her written test.
Wednesday: I am back to the gym bright and early!!
Thursday: Create a menu and grocery list for the week and do the shopping. Try and use some coupons!
Friday: Since TJ is taking the day off try and work in a little couple time while kids are at school and Grandmas. :)
Saturday: Do something out of the ordinary and active with the kids.
Sunday: Try out a new recipe. Should be fun with all the cool cookbooks I bought TJ for Xmas! ;)

2009 came and went
Without me doing much of anything. Sheesh. I am such a procrastinator and soooo good with excuses... especially to myself. My 2 New Year's Resolutions are to take charge of my health and to tackle my list. Yes folks, actually FINISH SOMETHING I'VE STARTED!!! Astonishing, but I hear tell other people manage it so it may not be completely crazy!!
So, I had to take some things off the list.... some I've accomplished and some I tried and they just aren't for me. I've also added some things. :) I'm not going to set a time line or a limit of items on the list, I'm going to consider it a fluid thing... never done. My goal is to always keep these things in mind, to always be working on something, to always be doing something for ME.
List Cross Offs:
Learn to play the drums: After playing Rock Band I realize this is not something I am cut out for. LOL I have no rhythm. None. :)
Get ID Driver's License. Check!! :) I am street legal bitches!
Organized/Decorated House: Doing a lot better in that department and improving all the time!
Lose weight/Get in Shape: Haven't gotten too far... though I did join a gym and started on a 3X weekly water aerobics schedule. Sickness and Holidays have had me out of that for the past month of so... plan on getting back on Monday!! These will combine into one list item. :)
Get a haircut: Did that, I do still do ponytail too often though. But hey, I'm a Mom. ;)
Signature scent: I did find a perfume I like that DH likes, just need to shell out the dough. :)
Sewing: I just pretty much suck at this. I'm ok for pillows, curtains, etc. but that's about it. I am accepting my limits and moving on. It's something I still enjoy, now I need to make some better "Snuggies" for everyone. In Steelers fleece!

Time Flies When You're Having FUN!!!
Summer is in full swing around here!! We got a giant blow up water slide and wading pool so we have been spending tons of time out back... and I've got the sunburn to prove it!! I got the study guide for the ID driver's license test to read whilst I'm out w/ the kids so maybe I could cross that pesky DL off my list!! I've also been getting together a lot w/ Angie and her kids and Melissa and hers, now to do some non playdate related socializing! I keep threatening to have a BBQ but then the heat and summer laziness overwhelms me and we play w/out having others join us. :) The kids and I have gotten in to a good routine, getting out and having lots of fun. We're going to start doing some educational stuff soon... we're going to learn about the Olympics. The history, the games played then and now, and some of the athletes and their countries. I thought we could do meals from different countries and of course do some of the games out back! We love watching the Olympics as a family and are really excited!!
Some list related news from the last few weeks:
I got a haircut and colored my hair and learned some valuable lessons.
1. Don't go to Fantastic Sam's because your reg girl is out of town and then tell them to give you bangs.
2. When highlighting your hair don't put the first one right on your new (short!) bangs and then take a long time getting the rest done.
So, not the haircut of my dreams, but I think if I put some other blonder highlights around my hair this one'll look less obvious. Also, I've been pinning my bangs up and the way my hair grows I can have Drea fix 'em in a month or two. Aside from that, I'm glad to have gotten all the dead ends off, it's much better now... no more tangles and my curls are much nicer.
I've given up on my Helen of Troy audiobook. Today if I get time I'm getting a library card and going to get one "classic" and one "regular" book off my list.
I've been getting up early and going for a walk most days which is good. We bought WiiFit (my very early Bday present) so I've got to try that out, with the water slide video games have taken a back seat..... never thought that would happen around here!! We're also planning a family vacation to San Diego in Sept, should be loads and loads of fun!!

Just another Manic Monday
Mondays (and Thursdays) are baby days... 2 extra 2 year olds in the house, fun fun fun!! The big kids were super excited since school is out this is the first time they'll get to play w/ them. :) We had good fun, walked down to the Jr high to play in the "sandbox" (volleyball court) and run around like maniacs on the baseball field. We got the first few weeks of the official summer schedule done, talked about the new chore list, worked on the deep clean/organize To Do list... and watched Annie. All in all a pretty laid back semi productive day! Yay us!!
On the plus side, TJ and I went to a movie Sunday... sans kids! And have decided to do so more often. :) And instead of making fun of The List, he said he was proud of me, but wanted to make sure I was happy with my life, and not wishing I had some other life... where I did those things. I reassured him that I was very very happy, but adding more "me" time, some new experiences and hobbies, and feeling that sense of excitement and accomplishment would make it all the better.
I've even thought of a few more things I need to add to the list!! Hmmm, I should hurry up and cross some stuff off the list ASAP to make room!!
I have been getting in my great kiss everyday... and hope it leads to more intimacy. Of the emotional and physical sort. With 5 kids and normal busy life it's really easy to fall into a busy get it done sort of "team" thing. I want more passion!!!
I'm well on my way to the organized house. And the losing weight and getting into shape will come as I go. The kids and I are having more fun already, just getting out and doing stuff... walks to the school to play, the park, Farmer's Market, etc. Ooh, and I have set up every Friday AM playdates at the park for fun and socializing w/ the kids and... wait for it... GROWN-UPS!! LOL
Oh, and I've been researching tattoos, and have dug up all the stuff I had from learning about Henna tattooing earlier and have gotten a few of those learn to write notebooks to practice the shapes (as suggested!) and next month plan to order some new supplies so I can practice practice practice!! Seems like a fun little hobby, since you can have a cool looking "accessory"
Tomorrow the girls and I are going to mega clean the bonus room and talk about making it the master bedroom and switching their rooms around. Seems silly to have this huge fab room always just a mess of toys, especially when the kids have TV's etc. in their rooms and never use the bonus room for that type stuff, which was it's intended purpose. :) I'm also going to try and get Max weaned from the boobies, he has taken to refusing the binky in the night and making me nurse him all the time!! Waking up every 2-3 hours every night for the past few weeks is taking it's toll on my good nature. If we switch rooms though there will be room for the crib in there too, I figure if he naps in it maybe he can sleep in it too!!!
:O MJ

Summertime... and the livin's easy
Oh dear lord, the noise!! First day of summer vacation!! YAY!! House FULL of kids. We all cleaned up, did a little deep cleaning/organizing, and had a "team meeting" about our summer plans and goals. Then I used my fun money to treat everyone to popcorn, soda, candy, and Redbox movies. Ooh, so fun!! Tomorrow we're going to re-Yard sale the rest of our crap since the ARC doesn't come to get the boxes until Monday and the annual neighborhood sale is tomorrow. The in-laws are bringing a bunch of crap from their garage too and Riley and Taylor are going to work the sale. Profits will be used for something for summer fun. I'm thinking safety net enclosure for the tramp and some of those fun Crayola sidewalk chalk kits. Hope we do well, last time we made just over $100 and when I gave each of the big kids $20-$25 to spend at the store for helping, well I was broke again. :(
I have found a pottery class, just trying to pick which time slot will work best in our schedule. Also gave my book list to a guy at Tim's work who downloads crap for free so I can "read" some of them while walking, sewing, or doing the little boys' bath time... God I love my IPod.
Ooh, and Timmy said that for an early Bday present (as soon as Georgie boy sends us our tax rebate thinga ma bob) I can get Wii Fit!!! YAY!!! The Wii was shipped to Nintendo today for repairs, so I'm keeping my eyes out for Wii Fit in stock... good luck w/ that!
